For parents of children aged 6–14
You're not failing. You're enforcing rules your child had no part in making.
FridgeRules is a six-week program for parents of children aged 6 to 14 who want to end the daily screen fights, not with a ban or an app, but with one agreement the whole family writes, signs and keeps. The program opens soon.
Until then, start where every family starts: one rule, one conversation, ten minutes tonight.
Coming soon
One battle at a time. One signed agreement.
Week 1: See it clearly. You watch for seven days, starting with your own phone, and learn to look at the day around the screen instead of counting minutes. If you've already made the free fridge rule, keep it while you observe.
Week 2: Make the agreement. Everyone at the table, phones in another room: one agreement in plain language (what, because, and what happens if). Then everyone signs, parents included.
Week 3: Keep them safe. The warning signs of an unsafe conversation online, a pause-save-block-tell plan, and the promise that makes it work: come to me first, and I help before I react.
Week 4: Shape the home. The charging home, the device-by-device deals, ending the console on the session instead of the clock, and a homework setup that holds.
Week 5: Build them up. The words, questions and moves your child needs when a screen makes them feel small, and what goes in the empty space.
Week 6: Make it last. A four-question check-in, fifteen minutes, once a season, so the agreement grows with your child.
Two short emails a week, ten online lessons, and a 32-page printable workbook. The program opens soon; the free ten-minute fridge rule below is step one of six.
Want the full program? Sign up for the free fridge rule below and you'll be the first to hear when it opens.
A free printable for one screen agreement you write together. Parents sign too. Three pages, with room to choose a rule and a review date. One conversation at the kitchen table tonight.
